Instructions
- Hand shred the phyllo dough and cut into 2-3 inch manageable strips with kitchen shears.
- Mix the cheeses together and add about 1 1/2 tabs of Orange-Blossom water infused simple syrup.
- Add the butter to the shredded dough and mix well
- Create a nest with at least half of the buttered phyllo dough and spread the cheese mixture in the middle. Be careful not to get any of the cheese near the sides of the pan. It just makes for a much prettier Khanafeh.
- Finish by adding a generous layer of the buttered dough on the top of the cheese.
- Place in a 350F degree oven (use convection oven if available) Bake 50 minutes or until brown and crispy.
- Serve warm & with Orange Blossom Simple Syrup
Orange Blossom Simple Syrup
- Combine ingredients and bring to a slow boil in a medium sauce pan for around 10 min. Transfer to a container that’s easy to pour.
