Lebanese semolina cake, also known as basboussa or hareesa! Decadent, delicious sweet syrup soaked cake.
Makes a 15 by 10 1/2 tray
Mix ingredients (except for almonds) in a bowl
Butter a 15 by 10 1/2 " tray
Add the mixture to the tray
Add almonds on top in rows
Set oven to 350F and bake for 45 minutes, until it is light golden
Add the hot syrup right away when it is done baking
Syrup (make while nammoura baking)
Boil water and sugar for 10 minutes
Mix in 1/2 teaspoon blossom water
