Shawarma can be made with lamb, chicken, turkey and beef. Our guest recipe here uses beef marinated in a special sauce over night and then oven roasts the shawarma. You can also set the dish under broil at the end for a couple minutes to make the meat slightly crispier (like off a shawarma rotisserie)

Combine all Beef Marinade ingredients. Marinate beef strips for 6-12 hours (or overnight) in bag with mixture.
Add beef strips to dish with diced onion and cook in oven for 25-30 minutes at 400 F (200C)
Serve with warm pita and fresh veggies including chopped tomatoes, onions, chopped parsley and pickles.
